The seemingly endless painting project!

Thought I'd share some photos of our mess!  Every day dad comments how glad he is that he's not a painter and most importantly - how glad he is that we aren't doing the work ourselves.  It's taking longer than we anticipated, though I think it always does, and yesterday our contractor told me that he "grossly underestimated" how much work there was to do.  He said no one is getting a deal like we are....... so, lucky us! We didn't realize that we had 80 cabinet doors and drawers - holy cow!  It is going to be beautiful when it's done and I'll post pictures then too.
Guess it's hard to tell in the pictures exactly what's going on, but we are making the cabinets about the same color as our entertainment center.

This doesn't really show how beautiful the color is, but it's very beachy, relaxing and totally wonderful.  Even our painters are in love with it!

Can you tell this is our beautiful deck?  We've been without a washer and dryer for 2 weeks and all our stuff is either piled on the deck or in the family room downstairs.  We decided on the bid and they were ready to work the next day so we had no time to organize and be neat - we just had to unload the upstairs pronto!

There was so much prep work.  Days and days of taping everything, then painting and taping other parts of the cabinets.  I know that if we added up the prep time versus paint time it would be 10 times more prep.  It's just a huge job and the pictures don't do it justice.  Too bad we don't have a video to document the changes.

Our garage has become a shop and it's literally toxic in there.  I don't know how the painters have any brain cells left!

Can you see the color difference?  Funny that in the pictures of our kitchen the fridge is showing because for the better part of two weeks we haven't had access to it.  It's been plastic coated and taped off.  Let me know what you think.

July 4th Weekend

Lacey & Jake met Cameron for the first time and like the rest of us - fell in love with him!

Bay, Jeff & Abbie had fun in the hot tub

The next night it was Jax & Abbie having the fun

I couldn't believe Abbie would keep sunglasses on but she did - at least for a while!

Ruth & Ivan were honored at a patriotic meeting for being the
longest married couple in Hyrum - 67 years!

Jake & Gram

Jake & Delaney

Poor Eliza had a bad cold and even though her eyes look pretty sad, she still smiled for us.  Most of the family ended up being sick and Jacob blamed it on all 3 of our grand-daughters "super germs".

So cute - Delaney

Never got all our boys together at the same time due to the above colds so we're looking forward to being all together in Yosemite.

Nap time for Jeff

After meeting Lacey and spending a couple of hours with her,  Colby
announced, "I like you Lacey!"  Well said Colby!

Papa & the twins

A prouder papa couldn't be found!
Delaney, Jeff & Eliza

Grand-boys!

The boys and I rode the Front Runner to meet Papa for some fun.
We didn't know what we were going to do, but we knew we'd find something.

And we did - Fat Cats!  Bowling, arcade games, miniature golfing, pizza & ice cream sundaes.
In other words - a money pit!

Cameron came for a few hours so I had all 4 grandboys at once - heaven!

Here's proof that Colby puts his head under water - sort of!  He still HATES the "bubbles" (jets).

Bed time.  Colby's been wanting a "sleep-over" so we had one but not much sleep was had!
All in all we had a great time and loved spoiling our boys.  Everyone went home happy and tired,  just as they should!  We'll do it again soon.

Cutest baby boy in the whole wide world!

Awwwwww, Cameron is adorable

Cutest boys in the world!

I took Jax & Bay to see the newest Shrek movie last week we enjoyed it a lot.  Afterwards we picked Colby up and went to lunch and a park.  (He's very particular about what movies he likes and didn't want to see it!)  It was a really fun day and the boys were so good that I'll probably take them again!

Cameron meets GG

GG loved meeting her second youngest great-grandson
(James Gregory Barr IV was born on June 3rd to James & Julia in Michigan)

Holy cow - Jaxson is taller than GG!

Jeff and I stayed with mom for 5 days to give Jim a little break and while we were there Jeremy, Tauna and the three boys came for a visit.  She was so tickled that they came and especially thrilled to be able to meet and hold baby Cameron.  It was an especially good day for mom and she was able to reminisce and visit with them.  She continues to amaze us with her resilience and weathers through a couple of strokes a month, sometimes more.  She is weak but happy to be alive to see so many wonderful things happening in all of our lives.  She says she wants to go be with my dad but doesn't want to leave any of us.  We love you mom, Grandma, GG!
