We went to Cache Valley Sunday to visit our wonderful parents.  It was a nice day and we enjoyed our time together.  Grandma Miller cut her middle finger on one of Grandpa's very sharp knives and had to have six stitches - but not before she cooked, served and ate dinner!  What a woman!  We love our parents and thank them for the great examples they have always been of love, service, devotion, hard work and commitment to our Savior.  We hope and pray they'll be around for many years to come!

Jaxson rocks!

I got to go see Jaxson perform in his 5th grade band concert.  He's learning the trumpet just like his dad did - and all his Miller uncles!  It was lots of fun to be there and we are proud of him.  He's making good progress and seem to enjoy playing.  He will be 11 next month and is such a little gentleman.

Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Spencer Dredge!

Melissa & Spencer are married!  It was a simple, spiritual and sweet ceremony.  They are so happy and in love.  We were thrilled to be one of only about 15 people there!  They are off on their honeymoon now.  We'll post the photographers pictures when we get them but for now this will have to do.  FYI - they are a very cute couple!

Also, here's another picture of Abbie.  She gets more beautiful every time we see her!

Isn't she precious?

After a long and hard labor for Amy, our sweet little Abbie was born May 18th at 1:49 am.  She weighed 8 lbs. 13 oz. and is absolutely beautiful!  She is so sweet and has the most perfect little mouth, nose, ears, hands, feet, head - well you get the picture!  We love her and were thrilled to be able to be here for her arrival.  We are proud of Amy and Jonathan, they did such a great job bringing her into the world.  We are a happy Grammy and Papa I'll tell you!

Spain

We had a fantastic time in Spain, beginning first in Barcelona then moving to Madrid half way through our adventure.  Our first 5 nights were spent in Seldon's (Jeff's boss) condo, days were spent exploring the glorious countryside and beautiful cities.  We saw monasteries, cathedrals, castles and monuments.  It was truly amazing to walk where kings and queens walked centuries ago.
I was in the middle of a book about Queen Isabella, King Ferdinand and some of the history of Spain, so it was especially cool for me to see some of those places.
Next we went to Madrid for four nights.  We saw Roman ruins, the Aquaduct and more castles, churches and monuments.  History came alive for us and we loved every minute of our time spent there.  We have so many great memories, lots of pictures and a great affection for the country of Spain.  If the flight wasn't so blasted long we may go there again someday.
We went to church in the chapel next to the Madrid Temple on Mother's Day and it was pretty cool.  The church owns a large plot of land that houses the church, temple and MTC.  The church is the same wherever you go - but knowing what the speakers are saying is a benefit we have at home that we didn't have there!  Luckily a young Elder sat behind Ruth and I and gave us a running interpretation of the talks.  It was a special way and a great place to spend Mother's Day though I missed our family a great deal.
It's nice to be home and we had a surprise waiting for us when we got home, Jake and Melissa came home four days early from their adventure in Ecuador!  Their interpreter was leaving and they decided it would be too hard to stay without him.  I think the real reason is that Melissa was too lonely for Spencer!  They had a wonderful time too and we're all glad to be home safe and sound.  America is the best place on earth.  Though I must admit it was so GREAT to not have to hear about the election for 2 whole weeks!

Having fun in Boston

Boston is such a fun town.   On Thursday, May 1st we hiked the freedom trail again and continued to be amazed at the history there is in this city.  In the background is Faneuil Hall.  Here is a link if you want to know some of the history of this building:  http://www.celebrateboston.com/sites/faneuilhall.htm

Then on Friday we went with Josh and Julie and Colby to the Children's Museum.  Colby loves playing with the trains and boats there.  It really is a fun place to go to spark children's imaginations.  We had a hard time getting Colby to want to leave.

On Saturday we got up early and took a Duck Tour of Boston with Josh, Julie and Colby.  These are fun tours that use the old army duck trucks that can go on land and water.  They take about 2 hours to do the tour of Boston.  It was a bit chilly, so the windows were up in the tour truck.  But we still enjoyed ourselves.  Colby loved the water part of the trip.  We've had a great time with our Boston kids and loved every minute spent with them.
Now we're packing for our next adventure - to be continued when we land in Barcelona!

Trip To Spain through Boston!

Finally the day has arrived for our trip to Boston and on to Spain.  We started out at 7 am on Tuesday, April 29.  Marty Kearl picked us up and took us to the airport.  His work is only 5 miles from the airport, so it worked out for him to do that.  As we were waiting, Bonnie remembered she had left her coat in Marty's car.  So we called Marty and he was a good sport and brought it back.  As a result, we were the last to get on the plane.  But there was a good downside to this--the exit row seats were open and since we were the last ones to board, we snagged them!  The leg room was awesome!  And the seats reclined, so we lucked out.

We had a 3 1/2 hour layover in Minneapolis, so we took a train over to the Mall of America.  It was great--but that time sure went by quickly.  We ate lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp.

Jeff left to go running so I'll take over now:
They ask you trivia at the restaurant so here goes, do you know who Forrest's 3 best friends were.  Easy huh, how about, where was Forrest shot?  What did he say the best thing about getting shot there was?  We decided we need to watch that classic again!  It's the only restaurant created from a movie and it's fun to go once in awhile.

We hurried back to the airport only to find our plane had been delayed.  Oh well, we managed to pass the time and soon we were here in Boston.  It was great to see Josh, Julie and Colby again and we're loving our time here.

Yesterday Jeff and I went to the temple and did some volunteer work - me in the laundry and Jeff in the kitchen.  It was a nice way to pass an afternoon!  Afterwards Josh treated us to a Red Sox game - his way to pay Jeff for doing his taxes.  It was fun to see the players in person that we had watched on TV when they were in the world series.  David Ortiz hit a home run and they won 2 to 1.  It was really exciting to see Fenway Park in person and we had a great time.  Colby was really good and said afterwards "that was a great, good show!"  He is soooo cute!  It was really cold so we bundled up well, but still shivered throughout the game as it was only in the 40's.  BRRRR!file:///Users/Bonnie/Pictures/iPhoto%20Library/Originals/2008/Apr%2029,%202008/IMGP3809.JPG
