State Fair

Jeff and I take our grandboys to the fair each September and this was the first time we've had more than Jax & Bay to take.  Colby got to come since he lives here now and we had lots of fun showing him the animals and watching him ride all the rides.  He surprised us by wanting to ride the "big kid" rides with the boys and he loved them!  He went on rides that neither Jeff nor I would ever go on.  It was a good time for all of us.  Even if Jaxson did get sheep snot (sorry not a good word but it describes it best!) all over his shirt when one of them sneezed on him.  We laughed ourselves silly.

Cam got to be with us for the first few hours till his dad finished working.  He was an angel baby as usual.  Next year we may have to take reinforcements with us because we'll have the twins too!

Cutest boys in the world!

Josh and his girls

We love it when they come for a visit.  We were lucky to have them live with us for a couple of months while they were waiting to move in their new house but it sure was when they moved out.  I'd gotten used to being able to give them 500 kisses a day!  Jeff keeps reminding me that to go visit them it's only 30 minutes in a car - not 6 hours on a plane!

Scooting around

We bought these in July and have had tons of fun on them.  I just got my license last week (boy was I nervous taking that test!) so I'm legal to drive anything up to 249cc's.  These are 150's so watch out world!  Jeff and I put a few hundred miles on them and plan on lots more.  Once, we drove them up a mountain road and then went on a hike.  The drive was quite rocky and full of ruts - probably not a good idea for the scooters.  Live and learn.
We chose different license plates for them so we could tell them apart.  The one with the arch on it we call (appropriately) Archie.  But we haven't named the other one with the skier on the plate.  Any suggestions?

And again.......more!

Jake and Lacey graciously spent the first couple of days of their honeymoon with us!  They hiked with us and were our tour guides.  Thanks again guys!  It was great to have a little more time with them.  They even slept on the living room floor of our condo one night!  When we got up in the morning and they had the twins and Abbie in bed with them.  I said, "I'll bet you didn't think you'd have 3 babies in bed with you on your honeymoon Lacey!"  They loved all the kids and had as much fun as we did - I hope!

This is El Capitan.  Jake climbed this and when his brothers saw it for the first time on this trip, they were blown away that he was able to do that.  I don't think any of them imagined how awesome it was until they saw it in person..
Melissa hiked all over the park with us and never complained once.  I'm sure she must have been uncomfortable but she didn't want to miss out on anything.  What a good sport!

A lap full of love!
Guess you know who everyone is so I'll quit adding so much under the pictures.  I keep finding more photos of our time in Yosemite but I'll never get caught up if I add more!  Suffice it to say it was beautiful and tons of fun.
Thanks for going everyone!  Love you all.

June Lake

The day after the wedding we went swimming at the very cold June Lake (which is where our condo was that we rented) brrrrrrrr.  But Eliza loved it!  She sat at the edge of the water and dug her toes in the sand.  It was so cute to see her playing in the water and sand.  Jeff took her out and dipped her whole body in the freezing water and she didn't mind a bit.  I on the other hand, did not go in - much too cold!

Delaney and I are just alike in this regard - she hated the cold water and cried when we put her on the sand.  And I'm actually using the word "sand" loosely because it was more like little sharp rocks.  Not comfortable at all.  Josh was fascinated by the rocks he found because they floated - ask him about them sometime.  I think he brought some home.

Spencer rescued Delaney from the cold water.  Thanks uncle Spence!
By the way, notice his hat?  He ordered one just like if for Noah.  Melissa is less than thrilled!

More fun wedding day photos

Lacey's mom and sister surprised us all by making yummy cupcakes for our dessert after the dinner (which was at the Tuolumne Meadows Grill).  They were on a cute tiered holder and made a perfect wedding cake for Yosemite!

Oh so cute - sister and brother

Eliza hitched a ride up the mountain from Uncle Spencer -
look at those beautiful blue eyes!

Tongue-tied Delaney got a ride from her dad -
so adorable in her pink hat!

Cameron had to have a snooze after such an eventful day

August 14th - Lacey & Jacob's Perfect Wedding

We climbed up a mountain in Yosemite to a beautiful and secluded spot they had chosen for the ceremony.  Luckily for me it wasn't too far, for though I love to hike - not so much in a skirt and sandals!

Jake helped Lace up the rocky trail.  Notice he has flip flops on?  He told us months before the wedding that they were mandatory!  Just before the ceremony though, he kicked his off and was married barefoot.  That's our Jake!

Jake's friend Royce performed the ceremony and did a really beautiful job.
We felt privileged to witness their vows to each other.

Here we are - all 19 of us!  It was so great to have our whole family there and we all felt it  was a sacrifice worth making.  We are blessed indeed to have such wonderful kids and grandkids.  We officially now have 5 daughters and 5 sons - yay!
